2016
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development selected South Fayette Township as a winner of the Governor’s Awards for Local Government Excellence for the success of its online communications. The township’s website and social media pages were recognized for exemplifying exceptional dedication to public service through innovative initiatives.

2018
South Fayette Township’s 175th anniversary celebration, held in 2017, earned a Renaissance Award. The yearlong effort was a partnership between the Communications and Parks & Recreation departments.
