A German Shepherd named O'Neil has joined the South Fayette Township Police Department.
The K-9 went into service July 31 with Officer Alex Korkus.
The dog was born in Hungary on Jan. 8, 2022. Shallow Creek Kennels of Sharpsville PA imported the animal and provided six weeks of training for the handler and dog.
The police department's K-9 unit also includes Ellie Faye, a bloodhound, whose handler is Sgt. Mike Wesolek.
