About Tax Collection
South Fayette voters elect a tax collector to accept payments for real estate taxes (property taxes) for both South Fayette Township and the South Fayette Township School District. The township staff / township office does not handle tax collection.
Important Notice: New Tax Collection Agency
Jordan Tax Service now is serving as the appointed Deputy Real Estate Tax Collector.
The firm is performing tax collection duties for South Fayette Township and the South Fayette School District on behalf of the elected tax collector.
All real estate tax inquiries and services should be directed to the third-party agency Jordan Tax Service.
Current Real Estate Tax Collection

Jordan Tax Service collects delinquent or past-year real estate taxes.

Due Dates
Township
- South Fayette Township tax bills are mailed out April 1.
- They can be paid at a 2% discount up to May 31.
- Face amount can be paid up to July 31.
- Pay with a 10% penalty up to December 31.
Township tax revenue funds municipal government operations such as police, public works, roads, trash and recycling, code enforcement, communications, parks and recreation, administration and more.
School
- School district tax bills are mailed out July 1.
- School bills can be paid at a 2% discount up to August 31.
- Face amount can be paid up to October 31.
- Pay with a 10% penalty amount up to December 31.
This tax revenue funds only the school district, and not the township.
Please note: Property owners are responsible for paying taxes on schedule even if they do not receive a bill.
Real Estate (Property) Tax Millage Rates
South Fayette Township
- 5.98 mills
- Equals $598 a year for every $100,000 of assessed property value
South Fayette Township School District
- 27.7 mills (2025-2026 school year)
- Equals $2,770 a year for every $100,000 of assessed property value
Allegheny County
- 6.43 mills
- Equals $643 a year for every $100,000 of assessed property value.
- The Allegheny County Treasurer’s Office handles county tax collection.
