2016

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development selected South Fayette Township as a winner of the Governor’s Awards for Local Government Excellence for the success of its online communications. The township’s website and social media pages were recognized for exemplifying exceptional dedication to public service through innovative initiatives.

The Neighborhood Spotlight article series by Andrea Iglar in South Fayette Connect magazine earned an Award of Merit at the Renaissance Awards.

2020

South Fayette Township’s community relations campaign for 2019 South Fayette Community Day earned a Renaissance Award.

2018

South Fayette Township’s 175th anniversary celebration, held in 2017, earned a Renaissance Award. The yearlong effort was a partnership between the Communications and Parks & Recreation departments.

In 2017, the Communications and the Parks & Recreation departments earned an Excellence in Recreation and Parks Award from the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society for the township’s "Creative Recreation Sponsorships" program, which raises funds for community events by offering incentive advertisements in South Fayette Connect.
