Finance

The Finance Department coordinates financial operations in conjunction with the Township Manager. Finance duties include audits, accounts payable, billing, banking, and financial reporting, as well as employee payroll and the administration of benefits and pensions.

Financial reports, bill payments, bank balances, contracts and other financial documents routinely are included on the Board of Commissioners meeting agendas.

2026 Budget

South Fayette Township adopted a $20,126,474 budget for 2026 with no property tax increase. The real estate (property) tax rate holds at 5.98 mills ($598 per $100,000 of assessed property value). Stay tuned for a South Fayette Connect magazine article on 2026 revenue and expenses.

2025 Budget

For 2025, South Fayette Township had adopted a $19.5 million budget with a property tax increase of 1.25 mills, the first tax rate adjustment in seven years. The rate increased from 4.73 mills to 5.98 mills, resulting in an additional $125 per year for each $100,000 in home value. For the median assessed home value of $163,900, the township tax bill increased from $775 to $980 a year.

Tax Collection

The Finance Department does not handle tax collection. Township employees are not involved with the process.
